my arse would tend to hurt after a few hours solid driving, but it's a sports car, not a luxury cruiser!!

Personal opinion: the seat on the 55 has a tad more foam in it. I was fine with the seats both on the 280 and the 55.

I agree, especially the nappa as its very smooth in comparison to my previous 2006 SLK280 which really wasnt that comfortable.

I like the seats in my SLK 55 much better than the seats in my wife's SLK 350. The 55 seats are better padded and more contour plus the power seat adjustments are great. The 350 seats in my opinion are poorly padded, and without the power seat option, almost impossible for me to achieve a comfortable seating position.

I like the seats in the 55. Wish it had a lumbar adjustment but I guess they did that on the 08's. But overall they are great. It wouldn't be my car of choice for taking trips over 4-5hrs.

I have a small black leather pillow, that I place in the small of my wife's back for lumbar support. For long trips, I will use it, just to change. Otherwise, my back holds up okay.
