| Hi everyone, A lovely truck decided to drop a stone on my windscreen. Fortunately, with Dan's help I have managed to have it repaired appropriately. If the damage is of a small size (< 1cm) it is possible to repair it, if bigger the windscreen needs to be replaced. The repairment is done by a special machine which first sucks the air out of the screen and then injects a special resin which fills the crack. It is advisable to have this done as soon as possible to avoid worsening of the damage due to expansion of the dirt. I am attaching a picture of the machine used to repair the windscreen, unfortunately the pictures of the damage before and after treatment are not very good. I hope this is of some interest to the forum. Ciao P |

| Thanks for sharing, Ive done the same thing on my previous car it returns to 95 % but if you look closely you can see a small line or place where the debri/stone has hit the windshield.

| I don't know how it works overseas or in different states of the US, with Allstate auto insurance, the windshield/windscreen repair is free and they'll come to your place to repair the stone damage. Check with your auto insurance co. first to see if it's a covered benefit. There are certain restrictions as to size and location of the damage. IIRC, they won't repair if it is in the line of sight at the driver's half of the windshield.
