I haven't tried Zaino products because I haven't seen them in the UK.

I use Meguiars High-Endurance Tyre Gloss, it's a purple gel that's really easy to apply, leaves a lasting deep-gloss shine and doesn't spin off over your vehicles paintwork.

Dependent in my mood I'll use Mothers Tire Shine or Reflections.

tiptoe Zaino has almost a cult following the products are good but there are many that give even better looks and/or performance

Here's a different idea. Use 303 Aerospace Protectant as a tire dressing. It will not be shiny -- just a "new tire" look matte black. What it will do is to keep drying and UV rays from drying your sidewalls and causing them to get those little hair-line cracks. In my signature, you'll see a ten year old truck. It has OEM tires! Sidewalls always treated occasionally with 303, and no cracking. If you do this and want a shinier look, it is just fine to use another dressing on top of the 303. The 303 will still be there to prevent sidewall cracks.

Now the 303 Aerospace Protectant will give you a flat black tire appearance through many car washes, and that's good. But I have found nothing that will give a bit of a shine for long.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Autoglym tyre dressing for me. Also does a good job on the engine bay (but mind the belts).

John:

Thanks for the recommendation. I like other Autoglym products very much. For example, a polish and wax job with their Radiant Wax Polish topped with Hardwax1 lasts my cars a year. In fact, due to my illness, one of my cars went 18 months between wax and polish jobs, and still beaded up the water when I washed it for re-detailing a few days ago.

But I digress. I have just ordered some Autoglym tire (tyre) dressing. I'll let you know how I like it.

Update:

I applied the Autoglym tire treatment several days ago. Just sprayed it on and left it overnight. It appears to be a water-based product. It left a nice semi-gloss finish. Will report back later, and tell you all how it lasts.

I have bought and used Griot's long-lasting tire dressing. Does not fling off. Just got in the mail Lanes' Super blue tire gloss, so will test that for shine and fling today.

while lanes' super blue shines very glossy intially, after about 12 hrs, the shine fades. it does not sling off which is good and the amount of liquid they give you is not alot for the money ($9.95).

i will be sticking with griot's. my 2 cents

Well, the Autoglym tire dressing seems to retain its semi-gloss finish fairly well, but it is only a semi-gloss finish. I would really like more shine.

I am currently using Stoner Tire Shine (non-aerosol, in a spray bottle), applied by hand with foam applicator. Semigloss on first coat and has held up well for 4 weeks (mild weather conditions in southern California). A second coat may be used if one prefers more shine. I kinda like the semigloss better.
