Default Factory Windshield Washer Fluid

Hi,

I still have just the original factory windshield washer fluid in my car. It seems
different then the stuff I can buy at the store. It produces a sudsy spray where
the normal washer fluid is just a clear fluid.

I tried the Mercedes Dealer's service department. The guy said they just carry
the same commercial fluid. Nothing special from Mercedes.

Has anyone else noticed this difference? Does anyone know where, in the US,
I can get the same stuff used at the factory?

Thanks,

Mike

I bought mine from the MB parts department in the past and recently they gave me two extra ones.

It's a clear shampoo that's 40 ml (to be mixed in 4 liters of water). Part No. A 001 986 80 71 10. Cost is about $3 to $5 USD.

Probably summer, since I picked the car up in August.

Thanks,

Mike

I believe it's for summer as the owner's manual states to ADD commercial aftermarket windshield washer fluid for winter.
