Default brakes upgrade

I have considered upgrading my brakes to the slk350 vented discs at front.(mine is an SLK280)
will they be a direct swap? or will i need new calipers, carriers etc etc?

It should be a direct swap, but you might want to change the calipers as well, they look much better than the ones on the SLK280, the only problem I see is it might not cleared the 16" wheels but since you have aftermarket 19"s, that should not be a problem. DanSLK should be able to give you a better answer.

Hi,
As Ynot says prob a caliper change is probably a good idea here.

Apart from that i really don't see any difficulty here mate it should be a direct swap for you.

Hope this helps and any more questions just ask.

Dan

Here's the specs for the

280:
Brakes Dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. 11.8" ventilated front discs and 10.9" solid rear discs. Single-piston floating front and dual-piston fixed rear calipers.

350:
Brakes Dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. 13.0" perforated and ventilated front discs and 11.4" solid rear discs. Dual-piston fixed front and dual-piston fixed rear calipers.

55:
Brakes AMG-enhanced dual-circuit power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. 13.4" perforated and ventilated front discs and 13.0" ventilated rear discs. AMG 6-piston fixed front and AMG 4-piston fixed rear calipers.

Easty, those AMG brakes looks huge.
