Default BAS ESP captio

Hi Dan,

Being as I've posted this question in the R170 forum with numerous views and nil reponse (again) I thought you may be able to help?

In the abscence of a manual can anyone shed any light as to a permanent "BAS ESP" caption illuminated at all times on my R170?

Thanks in Anticipation.

If it is the brake switch, the light should not go on before you hit the brake for the first time after you started the engine.
If the voltage on the battery is to low the light will be on.
If your esp needs a calibration the light will be on.
How to calibrate:
Start engine. Turn wheel full left, and then full right. If that was the problem the light will go off. (That is a must after battery been disconnected.)
If the circuit of the wheels differs to much the light will go on.
There is also a transmitter placed in the center console that can be broken.
A trip to a dealer and get a diagnose can be useful.....
