| Dan, I had my engine replaced about 4000 miles ago, ASSYST prompted me for a service E and when I took it in the service advisor said it needed a service E, he then said it needed service B and to replace the brake fluid... I know every 2 years you need to replace the brake fluid, so I had them do that, but what about the other stuff, like oil change and filter change, that was done when the replacement engine was put installed... attached is a print out from SDS, what should I have them do? everything? or can I forgo some things that would have been done with the engine replacement? thanks for all your input! -jason |

| Related Question: Do you think COMAND/Flexible service/car computer doesn't know it has a new engine?

| This is a difficult one because the engine requirements need to be respected but you don't want to be out of sync all the time either, if it where me i would say do exactly what the car wants because everything in B is included in E so that will mean your engine and ASSYST will be in sync again. It will cost a bit more but it will avoid a management headache. Eddy, It doesn't mate.

| I had them do everything but the oil change, cost me $~430.00 I will have the oil changed in another 4-5K miles. thanks for the input, they also were able to fix my dash light dimmer, for the longest time, I just thought the A/C lights were really dim especially with the top down, they determined there was a failure in a circuit somewhere, reset the system (not sure which system) and now during the day my A/C lights are actually readable ![]() thanks for the help! -Jason |

| Cool, try and get back in sync when you can otherwise its going to be really difficult to service a few years down the line.

It blew up and the dealer replaced it, not sure if it was a rebuild or new (not that it makes any real difference).
