| Howdy Dan! Recently purchased a 2002 with very low miles(38,000 KM) .I tried attaching the factory windblocker after the detail job (it had never been used before). After much frustration, I gave up. and tried to remove the snap from the driver side. Wouldn't come out & after some tugging, the whole snap (including the anchor) came out of the roll bar .I gave up on the windblocker and will go for an aftermarket acrylic one but want the sanp out to stick back into the roll bar (hole is small and not noticible). Have you heard of this problem before or have any solutions? Thanks, Alex |

| Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the acquisition of a very very low mileage SLK.

| I'm sorry I've not heard of that happening before but i will ask one of the guy's who works on 170's if its just a case of simply re-installing the snap.

| Thanks for the warm welcome. Problem is it is still in the windblocker. I will not use the windblocker again. It seems the snap has something similar to a dry wall anchor. Just want to put it back to fill the 'void'. |

| LOL. Brought the windblocker with snap still atatched to ask a colleague if he had any suggestions on how to pull the screw out. He simply pulled on the knob and it released. Shock & dismay!!! Lesson learned, read the owner's manual. |

| Having tried in vain to remove that snap (before seeing how it worked and ending up like you), I would say that was quite a bit of "tugging" you were doing. ![]() Glad to hear you see how the snap works now. |
