Default Door lock issue...

O.K...My first time here and I ALREADY have a question!!!

I have a 1998 SLK230, and my remote lock/unlock FOB is telling the car to lock/unlock (the lights flash accordingly), but nothing happens. I can manually use the key to open the driver's door and the trunk, but neither the FOB or the switch on the dash actuate the locks.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

If both sides do not unlock then the above post is right. The pse is located in the trunk/right side under the carpet. On the older models they get wet and the solder joints corrode. You can repair the joints and mount the pump up side down to prevent water from entering in the future.

Thanks for the info! I found the PSE (Thanks to your info!), disassembled it and found corrosion on the connectors...cleaning didn't help them, though. I traced the issue to the air pump itself, which was not working when isolated and tested. I have located one from my local MB Service Center and will be at the Doctor's office first thing in the morning to have the appropriate extremities removed for payment for a brand new unit!

Thanks for helping out the new guy!

I don't think even MB have a proper name for it but it normally goes by Pneumatic equipment
