| HEY Dan or Anyone that can help I have a set of clear corner bumper lights for my 55 coming in any day now and i was trying to take the oem ones off to see how they actually come off when the parts to come and and i don't have the slightest idea how these things are staying on. i've tried pushing to either side and pulling and nothing. i imagine they are in their pretty tight with clips would a sharp flat head prying in between the bumper and the light do the trick? |

| MDS, if you're just changing the side markers, you can approach it this way: 1. Turn the front wheel (on the side you're working on) towards the opposite side. 2. Loosen and remove 2 silver colored bolts located at the horizontal black plastic in front of the wheel well. You may have to lie on the floor looking upwards to locate these. 3. Loosen and remove 2 black colored bolts at the front wheel well cover, the one that joins to the front fender. These are located a bit behind the front side marker area. 4. You should be able to flex the front wheel well cover and have access to the inside/back part of the front side markers. 5. Loosen and remove the torx screw that is located at the back sides of the side marker. 6. Press the small tab (located just in front of where the torx screw was). This will loosen the black backing that is part of the assembly that holds the front markers. 7. The front marker assembly is a bivalve with the pivot at the front part. This will be obvious once you loosen one side. Read the link and the links within as posted by -1-.

| well thanks to everyone who posted , i have completed the clear corner lights. although i just took off the two bolts that are holding the inner wheel well liner to the side of the bumper. i peeled it back and reached my hand in. actually it was quite easy. i removed the single torx screw and released the lense with the bivalve application. put in the new one and inserted the bulb once it was installed and screwed in. my question now is...... when do these lights actually come on. i started the car when we were done and they were not on.... although it was very sunny outside. i'm thinking they come on when its dark outside.... or does this have to do that i keep my lights on "auto" all the time... i never actually tried to turn on the lights switch... i'll try that next. the drivers side is easier to do then the passenger... on the passenger there is some hose thats right in line with the screw. but none the less still a very easy mod. thanks everyone who chirped in to help. once again slkworld rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
