Default Possible PSE Problem

OK, this is odd.

My door locks will not operate with the remote at all, but the lights do the appropriate blinking when I push the lock and unlock buttons on the remote.

They do however automatically lock when I drive off and they unlock when I pull the door release from the inside. And they lock/unlock when I actuate them using the interior dash button.

Also, the top is dead, I'm not even getting any light activity from the switch in the console.

I've done some research that points to the PSE pump module, but I'm not having any trouble with the interior dome light as some have indicated PSE problems.

So, in short, after being long , the doors/trunk don't lock/unlock with the remote, the top will not open and I'm not hearig anything from the vacuum lines/pump.

Any and all insight will be greatly appreciated.

Yo Kevin.

You got one of those smart top modules if I remember right. Have you tried to disconnect it?

Ditto on that, remove anything that is not factory first.

Check out the PSE for any water damage or signs or water ingress around it, have a look at the connectors also to make sure they are all looking good.

If your brave enough take the PSE out and have a butchers inside to make 100% sure its innards look good.

Default Mystery solved...sort of.

HA! I was going to get on here and tell you I found out the problem, and Gabus nailed it!

I checked all the fuses and removed the PSE for inspection.

I inspected the PCB, relays, pump, hoses and contacts/connectors to no avail, but thought I'd install it without the cover to at least see if the relays were actuating at all when trying to operate the locks or roof...nothing...dead.

So, obviously the problem isn't the PSE because it would at least show some sort of life.

Then I thought, out of the blue really, what about my EasyRoof module.

Can't figure out way that would cause such an odd problem, but sure enough, I removed it and everything work again.

So I thought I'd reinstall the SimpleRoof and check it again. And low and behold, everything works again with the module in place...weird.

I'm gonna email Dirk and ask him about it. He designed it, I'm sure he's got a technically logical explanation. Unless one of you brainy guys can enlighten me.

Probably the roof was dead because anything relating to it is fed via the module so with a problem in the module it makes a lot of sense.

Same with the locks, i take it the module allows the key to operate the roof so the module is involved in that.

Yes, I can open and close using the remote.

The first EasyRoof I had didn't close the roof, but this one is a newer version so I can close the roof now too. Pretty cool!

It was the only solution since the lock/PSE responded to the dash switch, and the flash lights responded to the remote.........
