Default Thinking about selling SLK and buying C 32 AMG

Something terrible happened yesterday. My grand ma felt and broke her right ankle in three places. It happened in her friends house and she was brought with taxi to our apartment.Luckily I was on duty in hospital previous day and on Saturday I was home. I took her out of the taxi with my girlfriend, hoping to find out that it was just a sprain, we realized that situation was serious and taxi took off. Because we could not move her around, we waited for another taxi, for 1 hour in the cold. My mother could not make it to the house because of the traffic, she has an E class so we thought my grandma would be comfortable in it. Anyway I never thought I would say it but during that one hour, gazing my beautiful AMG modified car, I hated it. It is beautiful but no use. I need a car with 4 doors.

Maybe it is not the place to post that thread but there is something I want to ask you Dan. I found a 2002 C 32 AMG, personally like that old C class design, I even like it more than the new one. Once I asked you if it is possible to swap my M 271 engine with C 32 and you replied with a series of long and polite posts that it is simply ridiculous, expensive and not worth it. The car is in 72000 km and looks fine in the pictures. If I make my mind of course I will take it to a garage and examine it with a friend mechanic. I know there is a famous intercooler pump issue with those cars, but I don't know what to check for that 6 year old beast.

If I sell the car I know I will miss it too much. I know maybe this idea, buying a C 32 AMG is maybe temporarily but it really eats my mind and you are the finest man I can ask questions about MB cars.

Thank you

I am sorry to hear about your grandmothers situaition and i do hope her a very quick recovery and the best health!, in regards to the c32 amg i say go for it beause you can seat 3 more people, it has a larger boot, its faster and more practical for a daily driver.

As a matter of fact, we have a 2001 c320 sports package in our summer house, which looks exactly like a c32 amg only t has 215hp rather than 349 but its been very reliable for 7 years.

Sorry to hear about your gran, hope she's up and about again ASAP.

The only real thing i can think of for the C is the intercooler issue but i will check the TSB's and recalls for you.

I know the C55 is a newer car but its still the 203 design and is simpler in the engine department so perhaps that might be something to think about?

Thats a great choice too if he was living in our region where the fuel costs are cheaper, however with sticking with the C32 since its a 6 cylinder his gas expenditures will be marginally less.

Thats true mate but you do have the S/C to think about on top of the 6 pots.

Why didn't you just leave the girlfriend there to wait for a taxi while you take your grandma to the hospital?

Because when you have a broken ankle a SLK is the worst car you can think about to get in and to get out of.

I've gotten in and out of cars with broken bones before now but i appreciate I'm a tad younger than your Gran, I'm sure if it had to the SLK would have been perfectly capable of performing this job.

The C is a lovely car but what i would add is you have the 55 and 63 to think about, i guess what I'm trying to say is its getting old.
