| Ok, I've looked all over the internet and tried several online MB stores, and local dealers (they say its not available in the US). And so far nothing. I'm trying to find the european license plate bracket for my 06 SLK55. I just bought the car used, and it came with the US license bracket on. Well after taking it off, I discovered 6 HOLES, , I guess the dealer didn't know what he was doing. So I figure a german license plate would look better than the 6 ugly holes. Thanks for your help. | It should be the same for bmw's, try http://www.e46fanatics.com/ on the left side, there are banners for their sponsors, I know one of them (sponsor) sells it, I've seen it on bmw's. Good luck. And welcome to the forum. |

| have you considered having the holes filled and painted? it's not that expensive, as long as the holes are not all mangled up, the shop can fill it in, and paint it like a paint chip repair. |

If you still have trouble getting your local dealer to order the bracket for you, I'd be willing to buy one here and ship it to you. Dan is right though, if you give them the part number they should be able to get it, but it might cost you more than it should. I tried to get the warning triangle for my SLK before I left the States. The local dealer wanted $90 for it because it would have to come from Germany. I bought it here for €19 ($25) Go figure.

I tried the Dealer today, this part is blocked from being ordered in the US. If you wouldn't mind ordering one for me that would be great. My email is mbtracy@optonline.net. Do you have a paypal account? I would fill the holes but I had a clear bra put on (the guy drove 1 1/2 hrs to my house), that's when I noticed all the holes. I was removing the US bracket to put the clear bra on. | |
