Default Flasher Relay in R171

Dan,

what type of flasher relay is used in R171? Is it a thermal relay or electronic relay? I'm going to replace turn signal bulbs to LED bulbs and I don't want to put load resister because it produces very high heat. I found electronic flasher relay in eBay, which covers 12 V 0.02-20A, so it doesn't need load resister. Is there any other circuits involved to R171's flasher relay such as bulb failure monitoring circuit, etc. I will try electronic relay, but I'm little but scared about possibility to damage to my car. And where is the flasher relay in R171?

Here is the link to electronic relay in eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-PIN...spagenameZWDVW

It does not have a relay to control them the front and rear lights use the nearest SAM to provide the pulsed power and the side repeaters use the respective door control modules.

100% solid state electronic sorry mate, its used because its more efficient much less complicated and lighter than a relay controlled system.

Thanks for info. Then I should use load resistor.
How the ticking sound produced when I turn on signal light?
Is there a speaker for it?

Put your ear to the right hand side of the instrument cluster and have a listen.

It uses the in-built beeper to provide the feedback same one that gives you the warning beeps.
