Default Taking top down manually

Hi, I need to get the top down manually on my daughters 2000 slk 230. I can't fix the quarter window without the top down ( I have tried). I have found posts on how to raise it but not found a post on taking the top down. If anyone can help please post. I will post if I find the answer. I have all day wed 10-20-2010 to fix

p.s. the top does not respond to the control button, it only lowers the windows and I can hear noise in the driver side quarter window which went down and will not come up.

My owners manual for a 2002 R170 has a section called open/closing in an emergency starting on page 215. However, it is written as the manual closing sequence. You can piece together the opening steps by thinking logically about what order to do the steps shown in the manual closing steps.

I took the top down this afternoon it was easy. I even removed the quarter window in about 20 minutes.
