Oil level

Cold the oil level reads ok.
Warm it reads reduce oil level.
I am confused?

Look for a pump removal system - basically you can suck it out the filler hole. Much easier than pulling the plug...

The dealer said it was a little high but not to worry. Oil cahnge due in 3k.

I would still have them remove some, maybe 500 ml. Don't want to risk engine damage.

How long do you go before changing synthetic oil?

There will be a debate on that, but I say follow the manual. The car will tell you. It should be roughly 10000 miles or 1 year which ever comes first.

For the AMG it is as mtiede stated: 1 year or 10,000 miles whichever comes first. They also charge about 58 US dollars more for the oil and filter change on the AMG.

don't mean to hijack but is it better to do a oil change right after you hit a 1000 miles? I heard somewhere that during the burn-in period there is a lot of gunk which should be cleaned out.

I asked this from the service advisor from the local MB sevice dep't. and he said I'm wasting money.
