Default 030 brakes...

I'm going to need to replace my rotors soon (well not that soon but I like to plan ahead) and I was thinking of getting light weight evosport rotors. I had a question about he 030 brakes though, what is different? Is it just bigger rotors or are the calipers different also? If I bought the rotors would I need to also upgrade the calipers? Is this even worth it?

what year is your car? the earliest versions of the brakes were identical, then in the middle they changed the part numbers, but the items were essentially the same, then after 2007, the non-030s had smaller brakes, and the 030s had the nice 6 pistons...

IIRC, Dan said the 030 brakes are the same as those on the pre-MY2008 SLK 55. No need to change calipers.

So basically the only difference between the 030 brakes and mine are just larger rotors?

Oh really so I have the same brakes that come with the 030 package?! Hmmm then I guess I'll just go with evosport once they finish producing the new brakes!

I think CJ currently has standard 6 piston brakes. I also think he is inquiring if he should upgrade to the 030 rotors when his stock rotors need replacing.

Assuming I'm correct... I think the only difference with the 030 package is in fact larger rotors. I recall one forum member that had his rotors replaced and the dealership accidentally switched them to 030 rotors. IIRC, aside from the larger front rotor, there was no other difference in the brakes.

Thanks Dan for clarifying everything for me!

Thank you Dan for verifying this was true! As of now its between the 030 brakes or evosport but I dont think have created that double wall front brake yet.
