| Check it out! I think the downgraded AMG rear brakes really sucks. We should have about the best sample size of owners with the cars. Do your brakes squeal? or is this a cost cutting profit increasing measure. Note to M-B: We are paying attention! |

| This says it all. We can still express our displeasure. It would be interesting to know "exactly" how much was saved on each vehicle. The C6 Corvette has an optional Z51 suspension upgrade with better brakes and suspension. It about a $2500 option, much cheaper than the SLK 030 option. The 030 option is expensive at $6000 plus and with the older, better, SLK braking system (2005-2007), only the true enthusiast would opt the 030 option. If MB maintains the current braking system on the 2008 SLK, a separate brake only upgrade option would be nice.

| hmmm =S I always admire and wanted big brakes like the slk55.. but now they got like 4 pistons and 2 pistons brakes like my slk350 now... is that a good thing for us slk350 owner? hahaso, the new slk55 comes with 4 and 2 pistons... does the 030 package has the same setup? or it upgrades the brakes to 6 and 4 pistons? |

| My 2007 55 has about 2800 miles with no squeal at all. If you do get squeal normally all you have to do is stand on the breaks very hard a couple of times. As far as help from Mercedes Benz or the area rep, good luck! I had issues with my 350 and the area rep did absolutely nothing to help get the issue resolved. The dealer however, went out of their way to help. The issue was not corrected but I will give them credit for trying. I had my 55 in for the first service last week and the dealer had a 2008 55 with the 030 package and it had the 6 and 4 piston set up. SA |

The US 08 shows 2 sets of brakes P30 and non-P30 and the P30's still have the familiar old shape.
