But I like the design of those rims.
And both rims, V8SLK's and lontong's, are drop-centre rims or how are they called?

@lontong: What's the make? I don't know "b4".
Probably the difference is a 1 piece wheels or monoblock wheels vs. 2-3pc wheel. A 3pc wheel typically has a "lip" which is formed from the way the wheel is assembled with a face and then a front and rear half of the rim. The front half forms the lip and is generally polished. Some wheels have a step in the lip and then there are ones that are flat like V8SLKs. I am probably going a little too deep but anyway the flat lip is called a reverse or full reverse.

Here is a pic of some rims I bought a while back. This is a NON full reverse. Sorry for the cigarettes, they're not mine, but it was the only good pic I could find.

In this pic yu can see how the front and back half of the rim is put together and sealed. You can see how the one straight on and the one on the right have different lip sizes.

Ok end highjack. Sorry, seems like I have been doing that a lot later and everyone on here probably knows this stuff anyway. Hmm maybe we need to have a wheel tech thread.

Those are 18x9+37 and 18x10+24 but wrong bolt pattern for the slk.

Welcome and congrats!

The chrome mirrors are starting to become en vogue with in house car designers, maybe those might add some more bling for you.

But now I know V8SLK's wheels: OZ rims with Michelin tyres.
I like the black multi-spoke rims on another member's car on this forum, and have thought about getting the same ones with color matched Mars Red for my car.

I live in Miami, the land of the after market rims. My car holds some interest as so few have stock 10-spoke rims around, they look different. ;-)

I keep threatening Frank I'm gonna VIP the LS430, and drop it with 20" black rims and rubber bands for tires. Make him bounce and shimmey all the way to the office.

I avoid Michelin's tires. I disliked the "dancing on ice" performance they had on rain on every set I've tried so far. I would like, however, to find a slightly quiter run flat. Good rain performance, you can always change shoes at the track.

The stock SLK55 wheels are just fine, and give the car a very distinctive look. All you whiners about the cleaning, remeber what Fernando said! It's better to look good then to feel good!

5-spokes are so nineties. Speaking of which, my prediction for the future of car design: minimalist headlights to hidden, and maybe even BBS lace wheels. Everything else from the eighties is being recycled.

Red wheels would look good on a Red car.

That's mighty harsh talk from one SLK enthusiast to another. Considering his wheels are only 1" greater diameter than what's considered optimal for the SLK (19") by most. Lontong, I think your car looks hot.

it's fine that you don't like the look he has chosen for his car. constructive criticism is always welcome, but your comment was nothing but rude and degrading.

I think he and I both need 5 minute delays on the send button!

SLKAMG13, super hot looking SLK 55 in white. White is such a rare SLK color and is refreshing. Stay with your 19" wheels, you might regret issues with the 20". Normally not a big fan of chrome wheels, but yours look fantastic with white.
