Well, thanks to on of our members for the enlightening post and as it seems this is the not so real diamond encrusted vehicle haha not owned by anyone but it seems to have spread around the net like wildfire.

When you get your 38th car it’s time to celebrate! Prince Al-Waleed of Saudi Arabia had this diamond encrusted Mercedes custom built for $48 million and is charging $1000 just to touch it. That’s right, not drive, but touch. The Mercedes features diamonds on, well, everything: the tailpipe, rims, logo, entire body, and beyond. At least it’s good to know our $4/gallon is going towards something we can pay to touch.

All that for something that will probably never be driven... what a waste of an extremely nice MB and also $48 million dollars which could be better spent elsewhere. Oh well...the Prince has something like $30 Billion in the bank, so no wonder he has his toys.

That story is completely BS and old news (no offense).

It's a show car built by DAD, estimated at their own inflated cost of $1million dollars. The car is covered with 'swarosvki like' crystals...basicly cut glass.

No wonder there's no hi-res photos laying around of this vehicle. Also while you shouldn't believe everything you read, most websites reported it as the story stated above and it was in may 2008, hence i thought its new.

yeah, these stories float around everytime the price of gas goes up. Remember the story of the 'solid platinum' car? yeah right...

There is however a 24k gold leafed MV angusta...but that's much cheaper compared to diamonds or silver.

oh, on Snopes.com you can see a video of the 'diamond car' looks very impressive nonetheless. DAD does offer diamond studding of the exterior of the car, but i have not heard of anyone taking up their offer. You should see the interiors of their cars!

i saw it in person at the l.a. auto show last year and i posted a pic of it here. trust me, it looks much worse in person. fortunately, they served grey goose there so i was able to fend off most of the trauma that that thing caused.
