| Well maybe not as bad as Doug's experience but this one really ticks me off made the deal last sat they called Tucson and had the car ready to ship said 3 days Tues took in the SLK and turned it in because car should have been there wed am called wed --- maybe Thurs --- called today said it was due any minute no call so I called and pitched a B--ch told them they had 1/2 hour to locate the car Guess what its still in Tuscon and is being loaded now will be here Monday I'll believe that when it happens Talked to the general mgr told him someones head had better roll and to think very seriously about that 900.00 transport charge --we'll see how that comes out next week so for this weekend and half of next week we get to drive a C230 we are so thrilled at that 0-60 in about 9 second going downhill ,merges like a two legged dog and gets an amazing 22mpg on premium fuel.

| Sorry to hear Gene. Perhaps they should give you a link to the GPS locator mounted on the transporter. Transport fee should be paid by whoever was at fault.

| It's a shame you can't put the screws to them for a better ride. Seriously you had an SLK and you're getting an SL. They should be embarassed. Tell them you'd been better off getting a Civic from the local Enterprise rental. |

| Does the dealer have any logical reason your car wasn't delivered as promised? Tell them the "meter" is running. Good luck on your Monday delivery.![]()

| Thinks for the support guys ---- the dealership is a beautiful place -- looks like a country club --- all the people are very friendly --- leather lounge chairs --- rest rooms straight out of a Vegas casino ---- free drinks (non alcoholic) and they did offer a SL550 but we couldn't take it out of town and I refused because we are going to Carmel Sunday -- It seems that the person responsible for arranging transport is at fault and was shining everybody on and is on vacation now --- he may not have a job when he gets back as for compensation I think I will ask for the 450.00 luggage to be a gift for our problems ---we'll see

| on the Dealer Rater website: http://www.dealerrater.com/ after you get your car and have a chance to cool off after the emotional rollercoaster they put you on by lying to you. A quick story: My dealer got my AMG in and when I went to take a look at it in the back lot it was still covered with plastic. I got to sit in it for a few minutes but it hadn't been prepped yet so they wouldn't sign it over to me. The next day I got off work early and I went in to pick it up. My salesman said it wasn't ready yet so I had to wait. About 30 minutes later one of the salesman I had never met before (or since) came in and seemed absolutely giddy when he came over to meet me. When I told him I was picking up the SLK 55 he clammed up and excused himself. That made me suspicious right there. My own salesman then came back to the waiting area and told me my car was ready. We went out to get it and it was HOT! I mean HOT! I hardly ever get the car that hot even now. The car had obviously been driven hard just a few minutes earlier and it had 54 miles on the odometer. I could feel the heat rising off the engine before I even got up to it. I was PISSED! What could I do though. I didn't actually own the car yet. Later I was able to find out from the service guy that the car had only 4 miles on it when he prepped it. So, it is obvious that after my car was prepped, my salesman or the sales manager let the salesman and whoever else, drive the hell out of my custom ordered SLK 55, during the break-in period when you're not supposed to run it over 60 miles an hour or 4500 rpm. I have a L O N G memory and I am planning to buy a C63 AMG next year. Won't the guys at Napleton's Autowerks in Loves Park, Illinois be suprised when I drive it in to show it off to them? When I tell them the reason I didn't buy from them a second time I hope they learn something!!! But I really doubt they will. That story illustrates the value of www.DealerRater.com I am not affiliated with it but I must be one of the few people who is trying to get customers to use the power of the internet to our advantage. |

| Thanks for the real life story Reallife. What you described is a BIG dealer NO-NO. Putting unnecessary mileage on a sold vehicle. Almost anyone would question fifty four miles on a new vehicle. We know that some MBs are tested in Germany, but I would still question anything other than single digit mileage on a ordered vehicle. What if the vehicle sustained any damage, then what? Regardless, it's inexcusable behavior on the dealer and bad business.

| Reckon Im a real a--hole. I ordered my wife a new car couple years ago and told the sales guy and manager, no decals, dealer plate surrounds etc. When the car was delivered and ready for pick up, they had put a dealer decal on it. I pointed at the decal and walked out, when they called the house to say it waz removed, I said fine hope the person that buys from you likes it. When you have a custom house built, you don't expect the plumber to live in it the first week, or him to install a blue sink when you asked for white. A car is the same deal, it is yours from the moment it is built and the dealer is simply a contractor to provide service and deliver the machine as manufactured. No decals, extra miles etc. The court agreed with me and the check from the dealer paid for our trip to Mexico and more. ![]() Consumers need to stand up and hold these arrogant a--holes to the contract. They are not your friends and if they think they got over on you, they laugh at you as you drive off. ![]() on them before they on you....![]() ![]() ![]() |

| reallife, i wouldn't have accepted the car from them in that condition, unless they gave me something in return. Also, i would demand an apology from whoever allowed that person to race the car around. If you roll over for them, they will think they can fool other customers the same way. |
