Yes, there have been a number of optional leather packages offered in R171 history. Some of them have been quite soft. Ours has only the standard leather in black, which was very hard initially. The advantage is that ours had none of those wrinkles in the upper part of the side bolsters that I have seen on other R171s, and it is softening with time and repeated applications of 303 and Meguair's leather cleaner and conditioner. If anybody know of a better leather softening agent, please let me know. |
