Default Green air filters for '09 350?

Been reading through the threads, researching and what not. I keep seeing people talking about these Green air filters that they installed on their SLKs. I have two questions:

1. Are they referring to them as the Green air filters just because of their color, or is that their actual name?

2. With the modified air intake on the 2009 model SLKs (they've changed it to a single air intake from what I understand), will the Green filters still fit or does anyone know of which one I should be looking for?

I'm admittedly not that techno-savvy when it comes to automotive engines, but I would like to take care of this new baby of mine, and from everything I've read in these forums the green filters certainly couldn't hurt. Thanks!

As a side note: I've always driven V6 coupe sports cars, and have always used fully synthetic oil in them. I've heard some people say that you should wait until your 3rd oil change to switch from regular oil to synthetic, after the engine has had a chance to break in. Can anyone confirm this? My last car I only drove 1500 miles on it before changing the oil out and putting full synthetic in and didn't have any problems in the 3 years I owned it but I want to be doubly sure with my new MB.
