Hi and thanks for having me in your forum!
My mother bought a 1999 "Prostitute Red" SLK 230K new to suit her vanity requirements. This last year my folks started spending about 1/2 the year in their little condo in California because of weather/health issues, and they asked me to keep their cars running & drive them around.
I noticed that the SLK only has 7,825 miles on it this week. I know my mother only used it for short trips, usually when people who know her would see it (sigh), but that still sounds like incredibly low mileage for an eight year old pocket rocket.
Is this indeed "unheard of" low mileage for a car like this? Had I known what a joy it is to drive I would have been borrowing it constantly and it would likely now have a hundred grand on it. It runs like a champ and has been serviced religiously as far as I know and has only had to have a battery replaced (my fault).
So, is this an anomaly, or are there lots of other old folks who only use their SLK's as a sparing fashion statement?
Edited to add:
Here is a shot of the car and the spec sheet. I'd be curious as to what anyone could say as far as the car's possible value in Pennsylvania vs. if it were in California. It's in PA now but we may take back to San Diego. Thanks again!
