Yes, it is a fun feature that produces much better 0 to 60 and quarter mile times and speeds than Mercedes claims -- even for the SLK 280. But I don't do it often these days with $4.00 per gallon gas! But in a 280, it will produce 0 to 60 times that are way sub-six seconds.
Just for fun, my wife had a drag race on a secluded roadway -- only to 60 mph. She drove our SLK 280 and used this method, and I drove our Honda S 2000 with six speed manual. Now, I've had the S 2000 for seven years (and 30K miles) so I do know what I'm doing with it. Know what? She won! |
