That's odd. Perhaps check with the local MB dealer to see if this is a Canadian spec.

If the wiring and plastic bulb holder/housing is loose (i.e., someone forgot to install them but left them hanging), it should be hanging towards the center of the vehicle probably around the same plane/depth as the inner surface of the tires or even deeper. Use a flashlight to look around. Have someone also look from the top (from engine compartment with a flash light) as the wire harness to the side markers come off from the wire harness going to the headlamps. Hopefully it's there somewhere.

I remember letting go of the wire harness and plastic bulb holder while doing mine (previous 280) and it took some "fishing" to find it. Now I'm careful to tie a twine loosely on the wire before removing the bulb holder, so when I let go, all I have to do is pull on the twine.

Perhaps other owners in Canada can chime in. Are the side markers functional? (i.e. lights up).
