My 1998 SLK230 ash tray is Sticking. The spring mechanism that pushes it out seems to be clogged, possibly with a cigarette filter, although I cannot get at it to see what the problem is. The tray moves, but only barely and I have to pull it out by hand. I removed the inner tray and found a small tab in the rear surface of the main tray body, but pushing it down does not free it up. Can someone advise me on the correct procedure to remove it? Thank you, Larry Carr -
