Can't go without spacers. I had to put on spacers even with the 225/40/18 tires. The inner tire wall rubs up against the metal cup thing that holds the springs.
Yes, without spacers i may have cleared the fenders, but i would not clear the springs then. in other words screwed from both directions
Problem is that i can't keep swapping rubber, i get smacked with close to $25 a tire change.
The tire shop i went to here in Brooklyn helped me out a great deal. Since i need my car every day to get around, they had a pair of used 225/40/18 tires for me to use while i wait for the new ones to arrive. Mounted them for free for me, so i am riding around on "loaner" tires till around Tues/Weds. then will switch to the F1 all season.
Outside of all the negative, the tires are actually very good. quiet, stiff on tight turns, and grip better then both the Pirelli PZero Nero and Rosso. Up size in the rear to 265 fits just fine and looks great.
So if anyone is in the market for 235/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Ultra High Performance tires, i will have a new set of 2 for sale once i claim road hazard damage on them.
