I do like those waffle weave microfiber towels for drying after a wash. I use an electric leaf blower to blow dry my car before using them. this gets most of the water off, so the waffle weave towels have an easy job.
If you have swirls or small scratches, try claybar first. the problems could be only in the old wax, and not in the clearcoat. I have a Griot's Garage ROB with a claybar holding foam pad. When used with a lot of lube, you would be surprised at how many swirls and small scratches come off. For those that remain (if any) I use the same ROB with a polish pad and Griot's Garage #3 machine polish to remove. Then, an application of Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish (really a chemical cleaner, glaze, and filler) hides any imperfections remaining. I top this off with Autoglym Hardwax, and I'm good for the next six months or more. |
