Yes, the OEM unit (and its "copycats") has a fairly thick black horizontal piece on the bottom of the area between the hoops, that angles up the inside of each hoop. We are fairly short people, and this black plastic blocks our view to the rear. I see no advantage in having a "cool" looking accessory if it causes you to wreck your car. Windrestrictor has no such obstruction, and I personally like the nice, clean, and unobstructed look of the "clear" model.
