Maybe the music you have needs to be better
Actually, I probably liked the Bose system in my SLK 320 better than the HK, but I think the HK sounds quite a bit better than you are making it appear.
I think there is a trend to play music with unrealistic bass and blasting out like everyone else wants to hear it too. But played at reasonable volume, I think the HK gives quite good performance. Certainly adequate when travelling on the road with the top down.
But to each his own...
