Thanks Ynot. I do believe some of the comments makes sense, e.g.:

"friends installed brembo brakes, fronts and rears, spent a lot of money, and the only thing they succeeded was that the ABS system occurred more often. ok and in hard braking they discs were less heated that the stock ones."

"One friend of mine upgarded his brakes (i think he put MOVIT brakes) into his Mercedes Sport coupe and although he spent a lot of money, he wasnt satisfied at all...
I remember the ABS system of the car occuring all the time and it became very annoying at the end...I think with SLK200 and 163hp the brakes are ok, most people believe they should upgrade them just for marketing reason without a real need."

"In a prior car I owned I upgraded the brakes and that is when I started having problems, warped rotors, etc."

I would appreciate opinions on the above comments.
