Congrats on the 55. Looking forward to seeing you in Nov. That will be the first time I've ever been on the track with another SLK55. Lots of C's and E's, No SLK's.
I'm a little confused about the suspension on the 350. I've always thought the 55 ran about 1" lower than the 350 and had higher spring rates. In any event, I suggest you give it a try before you change anything. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I have yet to run against any car over 2500 pounds that is noticably faster through the corners.
Don't worry about the 7 speed. You'll never go back to a standard again. I absolutely love it. The only issue I have with it is that you need to watch the rev limiter. If you bump it (when in manual mode) it won't shift for about a second, it just hangs on the limiter. Keep it off the limiter and it's lightning quick. |
