Yeah, the 997 is nice, I almost bought a Carrera S, but there is just something so sterile about it. The SLK's sterility is off set by the fact it is actually comfortable to be in, and cruises slowly quite nicely, so it plays the part of luxury coupe in addition to sports car.
The GT2 would be better as it is the rear drive only one, right?
The family truckster LS430 will probably replaced by the new Lexus LS470 Hybrid (or whatever name they have on it now.) The S-Class looks nice, but we just can't live with another Mercedes to break down and put us in logistical hell all the time.
Sideways isn't the fastest way around the track.... But it sure is the most fun! |
930 turbo is a nice track car, I gave my brother my old e36 M3 and he took it to florida to get it turbocharged, currently getting 500 rwhp on 12 lbs of boost. He's going to strip it down and make it his track car. It also makes a great daily driver.
997 is growing on me, I didn't like it at first. I guess I'm not a true porsche fanatic, was never a fan of the bug eye, when the 996 came out, that's when I started to like porsche's. And when I drove my uncle's 993 carrera that's when I knew porsche is a serious sports car. I can't imagine what the newer models would be like, if the older one was that good.
GT2/3 is both rear wheel drive, GT2 is turbocharged and GT3 is naturally aspirated. I haven't driven either but heard the GT3 is a serious track car, not very comfortable as a daily driver. GT2 is better as a DD.
Lexus are nice luxury cruisers, my dad previously owned a LS400, and it was problem free, quiet, and comfortable but doesn't have any road steering feel to it. People say MB has no handling haven't driven a Lexus yet.
I agree, I took my SLK sideways on the AutoX many times, not exactly the fastest but was the most entertaining for the crowd and myself.
