Turbo's = Free Power My Audi buddy insist's on Turbo's, but he drives an Audi S4 with larger than stock turbos. They give him lot's of power and he pulls away from me on the track. We looked under the bonnet/hood of my SLK350, and there is plenty of room for a large Turbos on both sides. Plus we have sort of a natural scoop that could be incorporated based on the plastic vents where the spray washers are located in the hood.
Advantage of Turbo's is it is free power (no pulley system like a S/C).
Disadvantage is you have to cool your oil and need intercoolers.
From what I have researched, based on the 350Z, you have to pull the enginer and get the compression lowered (or you will blow up the engine). You can raise the hp from 265 to ~450. I am thinking about it a lot, because as much as I want an AMG and have AMG envy, the Turbo solution would be a killer sleeper. At ~450 hp you can challenge a Z06. |
