I have 18 inch wheels with with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. There fullrun tyres and i set them at 34 - 36 psi to start with. All was good until i went out in a very heavy downpour and the back end kept slidin not even going at high speed. According to their website they recommend 42 psi. That sounds a bit high to me. What pressures would you recommend?? All the wheels are 8.5" if that helps. Look forward to a response. Thanks for your help.

34-36 psi seems about right, 42 sounds too high when the recommended tire pressure for the SLK is only from 32 to 35 psi. It might not be tire pressure but the tires (brand) itself. The Chinese are not known for making tires.
