I like the black multi-spoke rims on another member's car on this forum, and have thought about getting the same ones with color matched Mars Red for my car.
I live in Miami, the land of the after market rims. My car holds some interest as so few have stock 10-spoke rims around, they look different. ;-)
I keep threatening Frank I'm gonna VIP the LS430, and drop it with 20" black rims and rubber bands for tires. Make him bounce and shimmey all the way to the office.
I avoid Michelin's tires. I disliked the "dancing on ice" performance they had on rain on every set I've tried so far. I would like, however, to find a slightly quiter run flat. Good rain performance, you can always change shoes at the track.
The stock SLK55 wheels are just fine, and give the car a very distinctive look. All you whiners about the cleaning, remeber what Fernando said! It's better to look good then to feel good!
5-spokes are so nineties. Speaking of which, my prediction for the future of car design: minimalist headlights to hidden, and maybe even BBS lace wheels. Everything else from the eighties is being recycled.
