Default Bluetooth

Yes, you are describing the situation accurately. The puck remains active until COMMAND goes to sleep after a couple of minutes. During that time, if a call comes in you can answer with the phone handset and hear the other party but the handset microphone is inactive. The car microphone remains active and you can use the car microphone to speak to the other party.

If you walk away from the car during this period, the bluetooth connection on the phone will be lost at about 20-25 feet, COMMAND will disconnect the phone and all functions are restored to the phone, even though COMMAND hasn't gone to sleep yet.

Alternatively, if you will be remaining near your car and are waiting for a phone call and don't want to have to use the car's microphone during the COMMAND shutdown period it is possible to disconnect the phone from COMMAND anytime by simply pressing the TEL key to the left of the screen and holding it down for several seconds. A message will appear on the screen: "disconnecting handset" (or similar). Then your phone handset will work properly even though COMMAND is still active. Pressing and holding the TEL button again will reconnect the phone. This is useful if you have two phones married to the Bluetooth puck and want to switch between them or if you need to reload your telephone book.
