Well I went to pick up my replacement SLK this morning (for those that don't know my story read here
http://www.slkworld.com/general-disc...html#post32217) They were mortified to tell me that after all the problems I had with my previous SLK there was a problem with the replacement. Fortunately it is nothing serious a simple matter that they went to get the road fund tax this morning (for non UK people you need the road tax to drive the car legally) only to be refused because he DVLA computer said there was 2 V5's issued against the car (V5 is the US version of the pink slip) and because of the anomoly they would not issue the tax. Of course the DVLA don't work on Saturday so they can't sort it out until Monday.
All is not so bad though as they really are sorry this has happened they have asked if I would like to go to Germany on a factory tour! Of course I wasn't going to say no! For the sake of 2 days wait I think that's pretty good compensation.
Even with the problems I have had I can't fault my dealership (Mercedes-Benz of Eastbourne) at all. I know the replacement has already cost them a lot of money but they have bent over backwards to keep me happy.
