Alu is very good at keeping that away, its not going to be as tough as the steel exhaust parts but it should not rust.

No worries about engine damage removing the resonator does not normally cause any problems.

X pipes tend to be slightly better if you can get your hands on them because a straight pipe can cause a slight drop in power but it could be something thats only noticeable on a dyno.
as always thanks for the assurance. i am thinking about getting some brabus engine mods soon. i wouldn't really care about the slight drop in power, as the brabus mods will probably make up for it and then some. if i can get the cash, i am even thinking about the kleemann kompressor. i will ask for advice when i'm ready. anyways thanks for the useful info, as usual
