It is true the Lexus Nav is better then Mercedes, excepting 2 conditions. 1. The vehicle is in motion. 2. You get slaped in the face every time you start your car.

The Nav is better in that it takes you to the direct address (MB does in Germany, not in USA), you can look up business name and if finds the nearest. Also you can tell it the phone number and it will find the address for it, or when you put an address in it gives the option to call them.

However, when the car reaches the speed of 2 MPH, every programming function is greyed out and shut off. The passanger can NOT program it unless the car is fully stopped. This also includes the big numbers for the bluetooth phone, intead of pressing the big 1, you fumble for your handset. Doesn't make much safety sense does any of this?

Also, I live in Florida. People kill 2 cops a year hitting them on the highway. Those cars have flashing lights. Imagine if we're sitting in a silver non-descript LS430 on the side. Dead meat!

THe other thing is the stupid lawyer message. The display will ONLY show the rear view camera, it won't let you do anything with radio, climate control or NAV until you press the I AGREE button on the "you're stupid" warning message.

I have found from the Lexus Forums, there's no way to get rid of the button. However snipping a speed reporting wire turns off the kabosh. It's a leased car, so I don't know if I am going to do that or not.
