US cars, even with audio 20 (as I currently do), have some sort of Prewiring because of Teleaid. Check with Mtiede, he may have some experience with this also. The main difference might be it will use the mic that TeleAid uses, instead of the noise cancelling mic from the factory. Dodman's experience may be suitable to US spec cars, because of TeleAid.
Here are some pix for your reference. It is located at the underside of the lid that covers the center storage area between the seats. Towards the rear you can see a rectangular compartment and a small slot. Push in and slide towards the rear and it comes off easily.
