Yes they can be mate soembody has done it.
Best to remove the wheel and get it on a bench then butcher the buttons off and insert the paddles.
I have attached an EPC expolded diagram below and you can see the paddles in the picture, to be fair to the dealer they are still called rocker switches but as you can see they are paddles.
The part number is the one listed above.
