Ouch sounds painful especially since they both happened so close together and the tech had both codes in front of him glad its sorted for you now mate.
The 1085 is Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow - large leak)
And 1600 is Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Range/Performance (implausible)
As they have replaced B14 it was most probably damaged by a small bit of debris it happens often because of its exposed location without it the engine will tend to over fuel but only slightly since it is more than capable of using the other sensors to make the calculations its a purely emissions related code and would have no long term effect on the engine if it where left alone expect for the fact that it would be pumping some more nasties outta the tail.
The first code would probably have been set by the failure of the purge valve to activate probably not been given the correct commands by the ECU.
