Had my (DEC 04) SLK 350 for a month now.. love it...
You should easily get a low mileage 350 on a budget of 32K, in fact you would probably get an 05 model. Have a look on Autotrader website, log on to narrow your search and there should be plenty, a few less if you are looking for a manual. They start around 27K and some of those are from dealers, and you will still have a year left of warranty on a 54 car like mine.
Missed my S2000 at first but love the SLK.
