I'm among the group that doesn't like chrome but I really don't matter.
Get what you like the most and YOU'LL be happy.

FYI, 2 piece wheels are welded and the bolts are merely cosmetic. 3 piece wheels are actually assembled (functional bolts). I've never seen or heard of them rusting, but I guess it's possible.

I hope you're in a situation that allows you to test the wheels on the car. Not all wheels are created the same. As in, just because the offset is correct, that doesn't mean the spokes will clear the large brake caliper. Just make sure the place you do business with take responsibility for the wheel order and will replace them if they don't fit right.

The SLK55 is relatively new so some wheel manufacturers/shops may not have any experience with fitment.

PS. Did you check to see if they have those sizes? I would recommend staying away from spacers if you can. If it's a necessity, try to keep it as thin as possible.
