Dan as normal you helped me sort out the problem in moments. As you said the facias came off very easy. I trusted you that nothing would snap. I slid the unit out and pulled of the power and optical then plugged in just the power and turned the ignition. the command wouldn't boot. so I turned off again and plugged in the optical and she worked a treat and a little messing about. I ejected all the CD's and one of them had linear rubbing marks and its a brand new cd. so i'm guessing it was a little trapped. Anyhow once again mate you saved MB loads of cash! you must have saved them plenty in warranty fee's so far they should give you a free black series.
